The MOVE!

Despite a hiccup in getting the UHaul (we had to drive to Berwick outside of Sussex on Friday to pick up the truck) moving went pretty well.

One thing we learned is that combined we own a lot of things.

right side up (we were waiting for those little pads you put
on the bottom to protect the floor)

 More photos to come once we're a little more settled. So far it's coming along but we are still riddled with boxes. Garbage/recycling day can't come fast enough!!

Good Bye Saint John!

After being in Saint John for a little while one thing we hadn't gotten around to was the "market breakfast". Normally we buy stuff on Saturday morning then go home to make breakfast, so on our very last morning in the city we decided it was about time to check it off our bucket list.

Market breakfast is pretty standard it turns out:
eggs, bacon, toast, hashbrowns!

We also said a teary good bye to the Balemans who run a produce and other yummy things stand in the market. Who knew that you could make such good friendships with the people you buy food from in just a year! When they are wonderful as the Baleman's it turns out it's pretty easy.

Good bye market, we'll miss you!

Finished Slouchy Hat

With some time on my hands this morning I finished off my purple slouchy hat, and it's actually slouchy - huzzah!

Halloween + Crocheting

Browsing craftgawker I spied this excellent 'last minute Halloween costume' - or at least it will make a warm hat for trick or treating!

There was also a recommendation to braid yellow yarn (in thick bundles) to make a sweet lady viking hat. Awesome? Yes!

Knit Knit

Another knitting project, I lost my favourite purple hat last year so now I'm trying to replace it with a handmade version. So far so good:

I'm using circular needles for the first time and it's working out well. The picture above makes the wool look more blue but it's purple:

I'm going to keep knitting and try to make a slouchy hat. I was inspire by these hats:
