Hidden Gems of Goose Bay

Brennen and I took a lengthy walk to Tim Hortons for breakfast on Sunday. Here are a few hidden gems in the lovely town of Goose Bay:

We actually bought Uncle Ern's bread today in Nain!
Yay for buying 'local'!

Mother Wood Hardare? Mother Wood ACE Hardware?

Saint John Snaps

Some days there are interesting things to take photos of in Saint John but they are not THAT awesome to deserve their own post. So here is a compilation of pictures that are interesting in their own way.

These are three faces that I didn't expect to see together, at least not on the side of a van! If you can't make them out it's Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani and Danny Williams. They are speaking at Harbour Station in October, and if you have $200 or $300 (depending on how close you'd like to be) you could be in the presence of this unlikely trio. Don't believe me about the price? Check out the event page, shocking!

Oddest find in Saint John, yet!

Saint John gets cruise ships. Word is they originate from New Jersey, stop in SJ and head to Halifax. Interesting cruise ship itinerary hey?

Atlantic Canadian Adventures!

Over the span of a week I went from Fredericton, NB to Mill River PEI, to Sackville NS, to Deer Lake NL, back to Sackville/Halifax NS, to Miramichi NB and finally to Saint John NB.

Phew!

Although there is nothing exotic about Atlantic Canada, it does have a lot of scenic parts to it. I traveled by car, plane and train and managed to take a few pictures along the way.

I already posted about the PEI portion of my adventures, for Courtney and Melanie's wedding. But I forgot about pictures on my other camera of our camp site:

Our super muddy campsite!

Pretty old tractor (that still works!), used regularly at the
Provincial Park where we were camping

PEI: a small province with GIANT slugs!

Many, Many, Many more pictures (and a video!) after the jump:

More Adventures in Saint John

Last weekend I visited Greg in Saint John, here are a few of my finds:

Lots of windows - on King St.

An art gallery around the corner from Greg's.
They had people made out of cardboard in their windows!

Zoom in on the sign - very cute

Old building downtown, pardon me...uptown

This requires more than just a picture caption. Greg and I went to the market just for a few groceries and we were wonderfully blindsided by this amazing Turkish woman who fed us yummy food (hummus, breads, tabouleh, etc). We were immediately sold on her hummus and pizza dough shaped/consistency bread and bought it - she actually fed us so much that we ate breakfast later than planned. but who cares because it was all SOOOO good!

The hummus and flat bread we picked up.

3D Union Jack, on Union St. - pretty clever hey?

The owner of this car might have a hoarding problem

3D art that no doubt freaks people out when they walk by

3D art WITH ME!

Art work on King St. I was pretty impressed with these two
gay men parked on a motorcycle - well done Saint John!

This piece I'm not too sure about?
That 'child' looks like a pretty old lady to me!

Om-Nom-Noms!

Side of the Road Find

I spotted this abandoned and lonely nightstand on York St. I'm not sure why it's there, it's not even in front of someone's house.

Interesting...

Side of the Road Find

At the corner of Cunard and Robie, just in front of Jane's on the Common:

Space Invaders!

I'm not sure what these little circle guys are
about, but I like them!
